You can’t see me right now, and that’s probably a good thing, because this girl is doing a happy dance! Why? Because spring is in full swing and summer will be here before we know it! And to kick off the beautiful weather ahead of us, I’m sharing with you some inspiration for outdoor spaces from our home!

A couple years back we decided to add a screened in porch underneath our deck. Prior to that it was just a sad looking concrete slab that mostly just collected junk, so we turned it into something a little more usable and couldn’t be more happy with the results.

Last summer we built the sofa and coffee table which was the perfect addition to the space. (We got the plans off Ana White’s site if you want to build your own!) And now it’s a place where we like to relax after a long day, or my favorite, when a storm is rolling in!

Does that hanging planter look familiar? If not, you can see how I made that here!

The other space we spend a lot of time in during the warmer months is our front porch. We love our family friendly neighborhood and it’s a great place to hang out and watch the kiddos play. I can’t ever make up my mind, so every year the porch looks a little bit different. This year I’m loving nautical anything, so when I spied all the nautical inspired goodies at Target…well, I just couldn’t resist.

Don’t you just hate when things jump in your cart and beg you to buy them? Ya. Me neither.

  2. Love both spaces! My porch cushions and pillows are looking sad and need replacing. I’ve been thinking of switching over to navy and this post makes me want to go navy even more! Btw, your door is a-maz-ing!
